wedding: Nobbe-Brattain

Greensburg — Ryan and Ashley (Nobbe) Brattain were united in marriage Saturday, July 23 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Greensburg, where Father John Meyer performed the double ring ceremony.

The bride is daughter of Timothy and Kathleen Nobbe of Greensburg.

The groom is the son of Jay and Linda Brattain of Liberty.

Her father, Timothy Nobbe, gave the bride in marriage.

Lauren McReynolds, sister of the bride, served as the maid of honor. Bridesmaids included Jill Denney, Meredith Acra, and Nyoka Nobbe, sisters and sister-in-law of the bride; Kayla Gray, sister of the groom; Hannah Denney, niece of the bride; Emily Harmon, Shawntea Jackson, Shasta Shiner, Betsy Kennelly, Allison Henk, and Jennifer Kaeppel, friends of the bride. Junior Bridesmaids included Ellie Acra and Lydia Acra, nieces of the bride. The flower girl was Grace Denney, niece of the bride.

Justin Brattain, brother of the groom, and Jeremy Welborn, friend of the groom, both served as best man. Groomsmen included Kyle Nobbe, brother of the bride; Brian McReynolds, brother-in-law of the bride; Travis Harvey, Clint Woeste, Jason Myers, Kevin Maddock, Rick Haas, Andy Allen, Wes Oler and Brad Otto, friends of the groom. Junior Groomsmen included Trey Nobbe and Lance Nobbe, nephews of the bride, and Jacob Denney, nephew and Godchild of the Bride.

The Ring Bearer was Holden Harvey, son of the groom's friend.

Ushers included Kyle Wilson, Brian Munchel and Brad Munchel, cousins of the groom; Ryan Gray, brother-in-law of the groom; Todd Denney and Kirk Acra, brothers-in-law of the bride.

Readings were performed by Tim Nobbe, father of the bride; Candy Wilson, aunt of the groom; and Lew Ewing, uncle and Godfather of the bride.

Don and Darlene Hohman, Godparents of the groom, brought the Eucharistic gifts forward.  Olivia Gehrich, Dan Borns and Josh Brock were the soloists of the ceremony and were accompanied by Joan Koors on the organ.

Programs were passed out by Amanda Perdue, cousin of the bride, and Lillie Perdue, second cousin of the bride.

Streamers were handed out to the guests by Lillie Perdue and Lily Ewing, second cousins of the bride; Emarie Jackson and Elizabeth Mitchell, friends of the bride.

The reception followed the ceremony at the Knights of Columbus in Batesville.

The couple is residing in Shelbyville after a honeymoon in St. Lucia.

Ryan is employed with North Decatur Jr. /Sr. High School, where he teaches Social Studies and coaches JV Boys' Basketball, Jr. High Track and Cross Country. He is a 2003 graduate of Union County High School and a 2007 graduate of Indiana University, where he earned a Bachelor Degree in Secondary Education.

Ashley is employed as an executive recruiter with Kforce Professional Staffing in Indianapolis. She is a 1998 graduate of Greensburg Community High School and a 2002 graduate of Purdue University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership & Supervision.
