The North Decatur seventh grade boys basketball team defeated hosting Jac-Cen-Del 33-14 Monday.
The Chargers dominated the first quarter, outscoring the Eagles 13-0. The Eagles came off the mat to outscore North 6-4 in the second to pull to within a 17-6 deficit at halftime. North, though, dominated the third quarter 12-2 on its way to the 19-point win.
Cole Parmer led North with 13 points. Evan Smith followed with 10 points. Quirin Gauck and Caleb Stapp each scored four, while Luke Kinker chipped in two.
North improves to 5-3 on the season and visits Southwestern Shelby for a 9 a.m. game on Saturday.
The North eighth graders fell to JCD 40-27. The Eagles took care of the game with a 14-4 first quarter and led the rest of the way.
North matched the Eagles’ scoring in the second and fourth quarters.
Ben Kinker led North with 13 points. Kyle Kramer scored eight, and Nick Moorman added six.
