Pirate freshmen boys beat Lions

The Greensburg boys freshman basketball team opened with a loss to Connersville, 38-33, then beat the Rushville Lions. The Pirates were led by Peyton Buening with 16 points, Chandler Deaton had 11, Spencer Burkert had a 3-pointer, Keegan McCullough added 2, and Jaden Smith chipped in one.

The Pirates hosted Rushville Lions Monday night and came away with a 41-25 victory. Peyton Buening had 13 points, Chandler Deaton and Keegan McCullough had 8 points each, Jaden Smith added 6 points; Spencer Burkert put in four, and Devon Brown chipped in two.

The Pirates travel to North Decatur Thursday night with game time slated at 6 p.m.
