The South Decatur boys varsity basketball team improved to 11-4 on the season with a non-league win over host Jac-Cen-Del Saturday night, 52-46.
The Cougars came from behind to defeat a potential sectional opponent on the strength of five scorers, including three in double figures. Senior Cameron Agnew led his team with 19 points. Junior Taylor Kopplin followed with 14, while senior Byron Balser scored 10. Junior Andrew Wullenweber scored five and senior Josh Miller tallied four.
Miller and Balser grabbed eight rebounds apiece.
Jac-Cen-Del fell to 4-10 on the season.
The Cougars host Waldron (17-0) this Friday for a Mid-Hoosier Conference clash. The first-place Mohawks are 6-0 in the MHC. South then celebrates Senior Night next Friday, Feb. 15 against Edinburgh.
South’s junior varsity squad fell to the Eagles in overtime Saturday, 49-42.
