The South Decatur junior high girls basketball teams split a pair of games against Jac-Cen-Del to open the season Tuesday.
The eighth graders beat JCD 31-22 and the seventh graders fell to JCD 28-9.
Stats for eighth graders:
Stacy Fox - 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals; Brooke Helms - 9 points, 4 rebounds and 5 steals; Hannah Smith - 4 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals; Olivia Clarkson - 2 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals; Sierra Deppe - 2 points, 2 rebounds; Delanie Diekhoff - 2 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal.
Stats for seventh graders:
Madison Green - 3 points, 4 rebounds and 4 steals; Taylor Best - 2 points, 2 rebounds and 2 steals; Kayla Carder - 2 points, and 2 rebounds; Brooke Owens - 1 point, 11 rebounds and 2 steals; Claire Wullenweber - 1 point, 3 rebounds and 2 steals.
South’s junior high girls next host Jennings County.
