Columbus —
A Greensburg sophomore and a relay team advanced to the championship heats of the Columbus North boys swimming sectionals Thursday night, with two other relays competing in the finals Saturday.
Sophomore Nick Oesterling took seventh place in the 100-yard backstroke event, clocking a time of 59.75 seconds to advance. He finished sixth in the finals with a time of 58.58 seconds.
The Greensburg 400-yard relay team of Brady Niles, Drew Reiger, Justin Starkey and Oesterling clocked a time of 3:46.10 to punch their ticket to Saturday’s championships. They finished eighth with a time of 3:47.90.
Greensburg’s 200 medley relay and 200 free relay each finish ninth. The 200 medley relay of Reiger, Todd Overmyer, Andrew Schroeder and Starkey, took ninth in 2:02.57, while the 200 free relay of Oesterling, Schroeder, Starkey and Niles, took ninth in 1:40.87.
