Osgood —
The North Decatur varsity volleyball team defeated Jac-Cen-Del Tuesday night on the road.
The Lady Chargers topped the Eagles 25-17, 22-25, 25-22, 25-18.
Head coach Betsy Litmer said North struggled with ball control, but her team's serving helped take pressure off the hitters and made the Eagles defensive.
"This was definitely a night of serve versus serve receive," said Litmer. "Both teams struggled controlling the ball off the serve, and we were just fortunate that we had 20 aces on the night to keep the ball out their hitters' hands. We had some problems early on making solid contact with the ball, but by the end of the match, we were more consistent and our hitters put some harder hits down."

Litmer added that her team's willingness to grind out wins has been a key to its early success.
