Greensburg —
The Greensburg Lady Pirate golf team hosted its team awards banquet at the high school Monday night.
Freshman Britney Biltz received MVP honors. Senior Kelsi Brown was the Most Improved Player. Brown is extending her golfing career at St. Mary of the Woods in Terre Haute, Ind.
Freshman Bri Stagge received the Sportsmanship award.
Special recognition and an award for three years of Outstanding Effort was given to senior Hayley Williams. Senior Ella Westhafer received statewide recognition for her academic and athletic achievement. Westhafer received ICGSA All-State Academic Honors recognition.
"I'm proud of Britney and Bri and look forward to our next three years together," commented coach Terry Alverson. "It has been a pleasure working with Ella, Hayley, and Kelsi. They were the glue that held our team together, and more importantly, made the other players on the team feel welcomed and included."
