The seventh grade Lady Chargers were victorious in their initial match of the season against Batesville, winning in two sets, 25-20, 25-21.
Leading scorers for North were Mary Hughes with 9 points on 10-for-12 serving. JoBeth Martin followed with 8 points out of perfect 15-for-15 serving. Blair Kramer chimed in with 7 points on 9-for-9 serving.
North Decatur's eighth grade team lost to Batesville in two games 22-25, 18-25. Hannah Andrews and Brooke Coy led North with 4 points each. Kirsten Ricke and Laura Haunert each added three points.
The North Decatur junior high teams were scheduled to host the Edinburgh Lancers Thursday.
