South boys Senior Night tonight
The South Decatur boys basketball team will honor six seniors tonight before the varsity game against Edinburgh.
The Cougars will honor seniors Cameron Agnew, Byron Balser, Taylor Campos, Jordan Hatton, Josh Miller and Ben Tichenor on the night they play the final home games of their careers.
Pirate 7th girls top Shelbyville
The Greensburg 7A girls basketball team defeated Shelbyville Thursday night, 55-15. The leading scorer was Sierra Johnson with 14 points, 13 rebounds, 3 steals, and 3 blocked shots. Kyra Whitaker had 12 points, 5 rebounds, 7 steals, and 6 assists. Bailey Meyer had 11 points and 4 steals. Keirsten Lynette had 8 points and 5 rebounds. Cameron Jones scored 6 points, while Ashlynn Meyer and Gracie Maxwell chipped in 2 points each.
The Lady Pirates 7B team beat Shelbyville 47-24. The leading scorer was Gracie Maxwell with 12 points. Ashley Bower had 11 points. Cameron Jones with 10 points. Abby Scheumann with 6 points. Kirstin Hersley with 5. Emma Hellmich with 3 points. Abby Scheumann ended with 13 rebounds and 4 blocked shots. Emma Hellmich led with 3 steals.
Pennies for Patients tonight at South
South Decatur High School will host a fundraiser for “Pennies for Patients” tonight at the South Decatur boys varsity basketball game against Edinburgh.
The money goes directly to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society. This is a competition against North Decatur, so please bring your change!
The fundraiser will be a “Console Cleanout” Any change in your car’s console could be cleaned out and donated for the cause. There will be students collecting the change inside the school before the game.
South thanks any contributors for their help and donations to a worthy cause.
Columbus Boomer tryouts offered
The Columbus Boomers will be having tryouts for their Spring girls AAU season. It will be at the Foundation For Youth on Feb. 26 and 27.
On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be from 5:30-7 p.m. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be from 5:30-7 p.m., and grades 7 and 8 will be from 7-8:30 p.m.
