Pirate 7A boys top Brookville
The Greensburg 7A boys basketball team is peaking as the regular season ends with a 53-49 win over Brookville. The Pirates shot 54% from the field, 73% from the line, pulled down 18 rebounds, had 11 assists, six steals and only 12 turnovers. Greensburg led after the first period 10-6 and increased the margin by eight at halftime 24-16. Brookville came back in the third stanza trailing by one 33-32 and took the lead in the fourth quarter with three minutes left. The Pirates responded with 20 points in the final period to secure the win.
Luke Lozier had 24 points was 6-for-6 from the line, pulled down 7 rebounds, had 4 assists and 2 steals. Kyle Sellers had 12 points, 3 boards, 3 assists and 2 steals. Tucker Bailey tallied 8 points, 2 rebounds and 3 assists. Cody Bischoff notched 5 points and 3 rebounds. Nick Heil did a nice job replacing Brayton Owens who sustained a pregame injury. Heil had 4 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal.
The Pirates finished the regular season 9-5 and will meet Shelbyville this Saturday at Ben-Rush with a 1 p.m. start in tourney action.

Spaghetti Dinner tonight at South
The South Decatur High School National Honor Society offers an invitation to a Spaghetti Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the cafeteria. Dinner includes spaghetti, breadstick, drink and dessert. Takeout boxes will be available. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids ages 4-11 at the door. Advance tickets are only $4 and can be purchased from any NHS member. The JV/Varsity Boys basketball teams will host Hauser starting at 6 p.m.
Elementary wrestling still offered
The first practice for the Greensburg Elementary Wrestling program will be Tuesday, Feb. 5. All wrestlers should be at the Greensburg Jr High School at 6 p.m., and enter door No. 5 off North Street. All practices and meets will be conducted through the week. There will be no events on Wednesday nights either. The wrestling program will conclude the Friday night before spring break. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn the basics of wrestling in a fun way.

The Greensburg, South Decatur and North Decatur track and field teams turned in solid performances at the IHSAA Boys Track and Field Sectional meet at East Central Thursday.

After snapping a 1-1 tie Thursday against visiting Morristown, the South Decatur baseball team clinched the outright conference title with a 10-3 win on Senior Night.

The Greensburg, North Decatur and South Decatur girls track and field teams competed in the Franklin County Sectional Tournament Tuesday.
