South girls late start Thursday
The South Decatur girls basketball team’s game Thursday at Indian Creek will start at 7:30 p.m. The South boys junior varsity team will play Indian Creek Thursday at 6 p.m., because the varsity teams played each other at Bankers Life earlier this month.
Youth soccer signups open
Spring registrations are now open for Decatur County Youth Soccer. Please visit www.dcysc.org and follow the registration link.
Spaghetti Dinner Friday at South
The South Decatur High School National Honor Society offers an invitation to a Spaghetti Dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the cafeteria. Dinner includes spaghetti, breadstick, drink and dessert. Takeout boxes will be available. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for kids ages 4-11 at the door. Advance tickets are only $4 and can be purchased from any NHS member. The JV/Varsity Boys basketball teams will host Hauser starting at 6 p.m.
Pirate 7B boys conclude season
The Greensburg Pirates played their final game of the season, falling to Rushville by a 23-14 score.
Kevin Smith scored five points, while Nick Heil and Jonathan Brown collected three rebounds each. Taylon Hogg had three steals.
“Every player on this team improved over the course of the season,” said coach Rich Bryant. “They worked hard during practice and fought to the end in every game.”
The Pirates finished 0-9 on the season, and are looking forward to playing next year.
Elementary wrestling still offered
The first practice for the Greensburg Elementary Wrestling program will be Tuesday, Feb. 5. All wrestlers should be at the Greensburg Jr High School at 6 p.m., and enter door No. 5 off North Street. All practices and meets will be conducted through the week. There will be no events on Wednesday nights either. The wrestling program will conclude the Friday night before spring break. This is a great opportunity for your child to learn the basics of wrestling in a fun way.

All boys entering grades seven through 12 this fall at North Decatur, and planning on playing football for North this fall, there will be a parent meeting in the high school gym Monday.
