Greensburg —
The Daily News female athlete of the week is North Decatur junior Jenna Meyer.
North Decatur junior Jenna Meyer led the Lady Chargers to an end-of-season won over conference foe and county rival South Decatur last week. She scored a game-high 21 points.
Head coach Brad Bryant afterward credited Meyer for her offensive execution and finding her comfort zone against a scrappy and tough South defense. He also applauded her play against South's 6-foot sophomore Julia Miller, the Lady Cougars' second-leading scorer.
Meyer and the Chargers ended their season in a 48-35 loss to Austin in the South Ripley Sectional 45 tournament Thursday. However, Meyer gave her team a chance to win in the second half, scoring 12 of her 14 points after the break. She also added 16 rebounds, unofficially.
