The varsity won in four games 25-19, 25-23, 24-26 and 28-26.
With the close victory, coach Robyn Owens exclaimed, “We finally, finally, finally won a close game!”
Top statistics for the night were: Amber Knapp who was 14-of-16 serving with an ace, 29-of-30 passing and 68-of-69 setting; Ashleigh Ewing who was 12-of-13 serving with an ace, 33-of-39 passing, 18-of-21 hitting with three kills and 64-of-65 setting; Nicole Dougherty who was 6-of-8 serving and 18-of-20 hitting with three kills; Emily Nobbe who was 12-of-13 serving and 13-of-17 hitting with six kills and she had three blocks; Stephanie Kohlman who was 49-of-57 receiving; Briana Palmer who was 11-of-13 serving, 30-of-34 passing, 24-of-29 hitting with seven kills and she had two blocks; Katey Mote who was 27-of-29 passing; Liz Mauer who was 17-of-18 serving, 15-of-16 hitting with three kills and 33-of-34 passing; Heather Helms who was 21-of-21 serving with two aces and Kelsey Snyder who was 29-of-30 passing.
The junior varsity squad had an erratic night in winning 25-13, 11-25 and 15-8.
