Decatur County sports digest announcements for Feb. 13

Greensburg — Posted below are the Decatur County sports digest announcements for Feb. 13.

ND boys at Southwestern (Shelby)



North eighth girls win two

The North Decatur eighth grade girls basketball team won their last two outings.

The young Chargers defeated Milan 35-27. Eight girls scored on the night. Olivia Siefert lead the Chargers in scoring with 12 points. Addy Osting followed with six points. Morgan Mauer, Ally Gauck and Chelsea Hitchcock finished with four points each. Stasha Caudill and Meredith Fogle finished with two points each. Mariah Lozier finished the scoring with one point.

The eighth graders beat visiting St. Louis of Batesville 31-22.

Olivia Siefert lead all scores with 14 points. She also had nine rebounds and three steals. Ally Gauck scored nine point and finished with six steals and 10 rebounds. Chelsea Hitchcock score five points and had seven assists and four rebounds. Finishing the scoring was Emily McCorkle with three points. She also had eight rebounds and four steals.



Pirate JH girls fall to Sunman-Dearborn

The 7B Lady Pirates lost to Sunman-Dearborn on Monday 24-18.

The leading scorer was Ashley Bower with nine points. The Greensburg girls 8B basketball team fell to Sunman Dearborn Monday 33-11.

Scoring for the Pirates:  Allie Reisman 4, Callie Black 3, Meghann Kress 3, Haleigh Reed 1.



Columbus Boomer tryouts offered

The Columbus Boomers will be having tryouts for their Spring girls AAU season. It will be at the Foundation For Youth on Feb. 26 and 27.

On Tuesday, Feb. 26, Grades 3, 4, 5 and 6 will be from 5:30-7 p.m. On Wednesday, Feb. 27, Grades 3, 4, 5, and 6 will be from 5:30-7 p.m., and grades 7 and 8 will be from 7-8:30 p.m.

Parks and Rec offers swimming

The Decatur County Parks and Recreation Department is offering open swimming at the Greensburg Community High School. The pool will be open, free of charge, on Sundays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. continuing through Sunday, March 10. Non-swimmers under the age of 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
