North Decatur’s eighth grade girls basketball team hosted Greensburg Tuesday and won 33-26.
“This was a team win for the eighth grade Chargers,” said North coach Phil Nobbe. “All the girls got in and played in tonight’s win. When each of them got into the game the level of play stayed the same. Everyone was ready to play when they got in to the game.”
Greensburg coach Amy McFall said the Pirates came out strong in the first quarter and led 14-6. North was able to tie it up at halftime though, 16-16. It was all North the rest of the game.
Nobbe said Addy Osting, Mariah Lozier, Casey Ogden,Stasha Caudill, Emily McCorkle and Laury Wysong made an impact when they played. Scoring for North were Olivia Siefert with 16 points and eight rebounds. Ally Gauck had nine points, five rebounds and three steals. Chelsea Hitchcock and Meredith Fogle each had three points, while Morgan Mauer added two.
Scoring for the Pirates: Gabby Burton 8, Claire Fleetwood 6, Samantha Cain 6, Michaela Myers 4, and Sydney Meyer 2.
