Correction
Chuck Abrell was the photographer who took the picture of the Greensburg boys basketball team hoisting the sectional trophy, published on page 7 of the Friday, March 8 edition (“Only the best await Pirates in regionals”).
DCGSA signups underway
The Decatur County Girls Softball sign-ups will take place every remaining Saturday in the month of March.
DCGSA is taking registrations for slow pitch and fast pitch softball this Saturday March 9, March 16 and March 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Armory (Park and Rec building).
Anyone with questions can call Phil Nobbe at 662-6511.
GYBL signups underway
Signups are set for the Greensburg Youth Baseball League. Signups will last through March 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. The league will conduct signups on Tuesdays through March 19 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Signups will take place at the Decatur County Parks Department. Registrations are availabe at signup or at the Parks Department.

Pirates eliminate Bulldogs 9-1
The Greensburg baseball team advanced to tonight’s sectional semifinal by breaking open a close game Thursday with five runs in the sixth inning.

The Greensburg boys varsity golf team defeated Shelbyville Thursday on Senior Night.

Lady Cougars fall short in championship
The South Decatur softball team returned to Rising Sun Thursday night for a shot at its first sectional crown since 2010.

Track season concludes for local boys
The Greensburg, North Decatur and South Decatur boys track and field teams competed in the Connersville Regional meet Thursday night

Allen Memorial Swimming Pool holiday hours set
The Allen Memorial Swimming Pool will be open from noon until 7 p.m. for Memorial Day weekend, May 25 – 27.

South baseball plays Hauser tonight
The South Decatur baseball team will play Hauser Friday night at 7:30 p.m.

Lady Pirates finish in semifinal
Rushville traveled to Decatur County and gave the Greensburg varsity softball team its best shot in the Greensburg Sectional 29 semifinal Wednesday night.

Lady Chargers bumped in extra innings
The North Decatur varsity softball team exited the postseason earlier than most had expected them to. The Lady Chargers fell to Milan 12-11 in an eight-inning slugfest.

Six Decatur County athletes competed in the Girls Shelbyville Track and Field Regional Tournament Tuesday night.
