Pirates Beat Visiting Knights 5-0 Wednesday

Greensburg — The Greensburg boys tennis team chalked up a 5-0 win over South Dearborn Wednesday at home.

At first singles, freshman Collin Rigney continued his successful first season by topping Gideon Loveland 6-0, 6-0.

Tom Lawrence at second singles beat Sterling Werning 6-0, 6-0.

Mack Reed won his third singles match over Rob Werning, 6-3, 6-1.

At first doubles, Riley Burkert and Craig Schebler beat Jared Buck and Rhett Ransom 6-0, 7-6 (6) in a tie-breaker.

Kyle Colson and Sean Sellers at second doubles beat Joe Bedinghaus and Tommy Jackson 6-1, 6-1.

The Pirates improve to 2-4 on the season and 1-2 in the Eastern Indiana Athletic Conference. They travel to Franklin County tomorrow for a 5 p.m. match.

Greensburg fell to Shelbyville Tuesday on the road.



South Dearborn did not have enough players for junior varsity matches.
