Greensburg —
The Greensburg and North Decatur junior high teams split their games Tuesday night.
The North Decatur eighth grade boys beat Greensburg 40-29. North led the final three quarters after taking a 13-6 lead into the second quarter. The Chargers led 15-11 at the half.
Ben Kinker led North with 13 points. Kyle Kramer followed with 11, Iam Schmid scored 10 and Nick Moorman followed with six.
“Greensburg played good defense throughout the game but struggled scoring the ball,” said coach Andrew Ruble. “We played with good intensity but lacked execution on the offensive side of the ball. I am happy with how hard the kids fought tonight, but we have much to improve on every day.”
Leading the Pirates in scoring was Dillon Merritt with 11 points and Trevor Reynolds followed with 10 points. Chase Hogg, Harlan Dolan, Sam Slusher, and Louis Moore rounded out the scoring with two points each.
The Pirates travel to Jennings County tonight for a 5:30 p.m. tipoff, while North (1-1) travels to Edinburgh.
