Pirates Get Test Run In Indoor Track Invitational

St. Leon — The Greensburg indoor track and field teams traveled to St. Leon and competed in the East Central Meet.

Greensburg senior Brianna Parsons qualified for the Hoosier State Relays in the pole vault. Parsons placed second in the pole vault with a height of 7-06, good for eight team points.

Junior Jamie Herbert finished third in the girls 400-meter dash, posting a time of 71.18 seconds for six team points.

Freshman Liz Richardson finished third in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:55.26 for six points.

The girls 4x400 meter relay team of sophomore Kelsey Hayes, Herbert, Parsons and senior Tara Ramer combined to tally a time of 5:23.36, good for four team points.

The 4x800 relay placed second, with the quartet of sophomore Ashley Bowling, Parsons, Richardson and senior Gina Ricke tallying a time of 11:52.17 for eight points.

The 776 sprint medley relay team of junior Sierra Agnew, freshman Bindi Patel, senior Lyndsay Powers and freshman Sabrina Rivera, finished fifth in a time of 2:12.63 for two points.

In field events, high jumpers Ramer and Herbert finished third and fourth, respectively, both notching measurements of four feet, eight inches.

Richardson recorded a long jump of 13 feet, 3.5 inches for sixth place and one team point.

In the shot put, freshman Heidi Dance led Greensburg with a throw of 29-04.50 for third place and six points. Junior Katie Carder threw 29-00.75 for fourth place and four points.



Boys Track Results



Senior Nick Booker led the Greensburg track team, placing second in the 55-meter dash in a time of 7.09 seconds. Slusher finished eighth with a time of 7.30.

Booker finished fourth in the 200 dash, clocking a 26.62, while freshman Edgar Cruz placed a close sixth in a time of 26.78.

Sophomore Tucker Hime finished fourth in the 400 dash with a time of 60.13, while junior Kevin Lewis clocked a 62.15 for fifth place.

Freshman Collin Evans placed fifth in the 800-meter run in a time of 2:25.82.

Senior Zach Powell completed the 1600 run in second place, clocking 5:26.89.

Greensburg placed three in the top five in the 55 hurdles, with sophomore Tucker Hime clocking a time of 9.21 seconds for second place. Freshman Shine Duncan placed fourth in 9.86, while sophomore Scott Denton placed fifth in 10.06.

The 4x400 meter relay quartet of Hime, Lewis, Powell and junior Jacob Slusher, placed third after posting a time of 3:59.50.

The 4x800 relay team of Evans, Lewis, junior Tyler Luber and Powell placed fourth in a time of 10:09.24.

The 776 sprint medley relay team of Booker, Cruz, Slusher and sophomore Blake Wright posted a second-place finish by clocking 1:43.06.

Greensburg’s second unit, consisting of Denton, Duncan, freshman Ryan Martin and freshman Shane Ploeger, posted a time of 1:57.13 for fifth.

In field events, Ploeger notched a high jump of five feet even for fourth place.

Sophomore Colin Rayner placed fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 8-06.

Slusher tallied a long jump of 17-08.50 for third place. Hime notched a 17-00 jump for seventh, and Booker notched a 16-06 for eighth.

In the shot put, senior Luke Schmidt placed second with a mark of 41-03.50. Senior Kelby Hedrick tallied a mark of 40-02.50 for fourth place. Sophomore Nathan Redelman notched a shot put of 38-01 for seventh, while senior Dallas Colley placed eighth with a mark of 37-11.75.
