The North Decatur eighth grade girls basketball team finished the season, splitting their final two games.
North traveled to Indian Creek Thursday and came away with a 43-20 win. Leading the young Chargers in scoring was Abby Lamb with 12 points. Andrea Volk followed with nine points and Brianna Hagerty finished with eight. Emma Geis and Myra Steele both finished with six points each. Erin Yager chip in two points.
The team traveled to Morristown Saturday to face Triton Central and was defeated 36-35, closing out the young Chargers’ season. Myra Steele lead the team in scoring Saturday with 12 points. Alison Wallpe finished with seven points.
Others scoring for the Lady Chargers were Andea Volk with six, Emma Geis with five, Abby Lamb four and Brianna Hagerty with one.
“The girls played hard today and could not get the ball to go into the rim late in the game,” said coach Phil Nobbe. “The eighth grade coaches were very proud with the effort that the girls gave throughout the season at each practice and game.”
