Win elusive for Lady Chargers

Greensburg — The North Decatur girls varsity basketball team made a run at visiting Class 3A Batesville Thursday night, but the Lady Chargers were unable to finish in a 57-49 loss.

North led on two separate occasions early in the third quarter on scores by junior Anna Wallpe and senior Jenna Meyer. However, the visitors pulled away in the fourth quarter.

Meyer led all scorers with 18 points. Junior Emma Geis followed with seven points, while juniors Andrea Volk and Anna Wallpe each scored six. Yager scored five, junior Myra Steele added four and junior Abby Lamb chipped in a 3-pointer.

North is now 1-1 on the season.
