After a slow start, the Greensburg eighth grade girls basketball team tallied their first win of the season 34-21 against St. Louis Thursday.
“The score does not show how hard these ladies played,” said coach Amy McFall. The Pirates were able to have a shut-out first quarter and allowed St. Louis to only score six points in the second and two points in the third.
Defense was the key in the first four quarters, and allowed us to really set up our offense and get some good shots in the paint,” McFall added.
Scoring was very balanced: Sydney Meyer 9, Claire Fleetwood 9, Gabby Burton 8, Samantha Cain 6, Michaela Myers 2.
