Pirate gridders advance 36-0

Nashville — The Greensburg football team advanced in the first round of the sectional with a 36-0 shutout of host Brown County Friday night in Nashville.

The Pirates improved to 8-2 by building on a 22-0 halftime lead. Senior Justin Dance scored Greensburg’s first two touchdowns on the ground to go up 15-0.

Kyle Moeller added an early third-quarter touchdown run as the Pirates dominated on the ground. Senior Ryan Martin went over the 100-yard mark on the night and senior Elliott Green played at quarterback for injured junior Andy Meadows.

Greensburg will play Batesville next week in the sectional semifinal after the Bulldogs eliminated Edgewood.

Indian Creek defeated Rushville 28-6 in other Sectional action.
