Greensburg —
Beginning at 6 p.m. and lasting until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday Sept. 5 at Greensburg United Methodist Church, a preschool program will be available for children intending to enter kindergarten in the fall of 2013 or 2014.
The program is available to children from any school district, but only if the child is not currently enrolled in another preschool program.
The program is intended to give children who will be entering kindergarten a chance to learn a few basics such as counting and colors.
Parents will also receive suggestions of exercises to review with their children at home and places such as supermarkets.
The class will meet at 6 p.m. every Wednesday and will last approximately 90 minutes.
The program is directed by Jere' Sturges, a retired elementary preschool teacher. Sturges said that the difference among children who attend preschool and those who do not is noticeable.
Children who attend preschool fall into routines more easily, and they enter school with some pre-existing knowledge.
The first session Sept. 5 will be for enrollment and information.
For more information contact Jere' Sturges at 812-663-3094.
