DAR picnic and meeting

Greensburg — The Lonetree Chapter DAR met at 6 p.m. at the home of Ann Lindsay for the annual picnic Monday June 25, 2012.

Co-hostesses were Lois Laskowski and Stephanie McDaniel.

A delicious pitch-in meal was enjoyed by 10 members and four guests.

Following the meal a candlelight memorial service led by Jane Keith was held in honor of former DAR member Wilma Ray, 86, who passed away Monday May 21, 2012. Following a moment of silence, everyone sang, "How Great Thou Art" followed by prayer.

Members shared special memories and good times that they had had with Wilma.

We were honored to have Wilmas' daughters, Ruth Ann Smith, Mary Ellen Moody, granddaughter Emily Walters and great-granddaughter Abby Walters present at our meeting.

DAR Registrar Jessie Bailey presented three names for the Lone Tree Chapter

members to vote on. Those names up for membership are Mary Katherine Bailey, Nancy Bailey Nolan and Sandra Bailey Silver.

Voting was unanimous.

There was no correspondence.
