The Kitchen Kookies Home Demonstration Club met June 6 at the New Directions Facility. Seven members took items to be used at the facility.
Diane Moore, Executive Director of New Directions, welcomed the group and gave an informative talk on their services. She provided a tour of the facility. This service was started in 1998. She stated they could use more volunteers.
The group went to the Dairy Point for their meeting. Carol Smiley was hostess and she provided desert for the members.
Alice Woodhull, president, presided at the meeting.
The thought of he month was read by Carol. Susan Reasoner gave the secretary and treasurer reports.
The members volunteered as workers for the Fair in July. Barbara Smiley and Erma Moore at 4 - 6; Susan Reasoner and Carol Smiley 6 - 8; and Alice Woodhull and Polly McCreary 8 - 10.
Alice reported on the Council meeting. She stated the Apple Cook Off would be Tuesday. She said 500 - 600 puppy pillows are needed. The Extension Homemakers would be 100 years old next year.
Alice led the group in reviewing the Merit Award Program. She announced the Achievement Night would be at 6 p.m. Oct. 4, 2012 at the Greensburg Learning Center. The Fall District meeting will be Aug. 22 in Switzerland County.
Susan announced Reba Thompson would be the new secretary and treasurer for the coming year.
Lessons were assigned to different members.
Carol conducted a contest with Helen Parker winning the prize.
