Stella Pearl Bryant, 89

Greensburg — Stella Pearl Bryant, 89, of Shelbyville, passed away Monday, March 4, 2013 at Ashford Place Health Center in Shelbyville.

She was born April 10, 1923 in Adair County, Ky., the daughter of William Matt and Laura Belle (Conover) Curry.

She was born and raised in Kentucky and had been a resident of the Decatur County area since 1954.

Mrs. Bryant retired after 27 years of service from Dellekamp Cleaners at Hope and 1 Hour Martinizing at Columbus.

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church at North Vernon and Candle Lighters Home Economics Club.

She married Henry Milton Bryant in Louisville, Ky. Sept. 29, 1942, and he preceded her in death Feb. 8, 2002.

Survivors include her son, M. Brad Bryant of Flatrock; her daughters, Linda Fisher of Elizabethtown, Shirley Howlett of Columbus and Elissa Keppel of Shelbyville; her sisters, Lenos Henderson of Columbus and Emily Blair of Russell Springs, Ky.; her brother, Norman Curry of North Vernon; her nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter, Sandra Lee Westerfeld; her grandsons, David Burch and Jeff Burch; her brother, William Eugene Curry and her sister, Rena Brewer.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11 at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport, Pastor Andy Lee Officiating.

Burial will follow at the Westport Cemetery. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday from 2 until 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
