Vercie Sizemore, 86

Greensburg — Vercie Sizemore, 86, of Laurel, passed away Friday, Feb. 1, 2013 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati.

She was born Aug. 27, 1926 in Clay County, Ky., the daughter of Robert and Maude Combs Allen.

She and her husband of 45 years, Earl, had farmed in Decatur and Franklin County for many years. Earl passed away July 8, 1990.

A longtime active member of the Buena Vista Christian Church, she was also an active member of the Liberty Bells Home Ec Club.

Her passions were gardening, sewing, making quilts and caring for her family.

Survivors include three sons: Marvin (Jackie), Daryle (Cathy Jo), and Don; and a daughter, Mary Robbins (Junior.); eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two sisters: Lois Harrison and Stella Deaton. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, at Buena Vista Christian Church on Stipps Hill Road. Officiating will be her longtime friend and pastor of the church, Rev. John Johnson.

Friends may call at the church from 4 until 8 p.m. Tuesday.
