Kenneth W. Biddinger, 62

Greensburg — Kenneth W. Biddinger, 62, Westport, passed away at 11:15 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at his residence.

He was born July 27, 1950, in Greensburg, the son of Robert M. and Marjorie Harriet (Hamilton) Biddinger. He was a lifelong resident of Westport, graduating from Sandcreek High School in 1968, and Indiana University in 1993 with honors. After 34 years of service, he retired in 2006 from the Muscatatuck State Development Center and then worked as a consultant for Outreach Services of Indiana, Madison, until 2010. He was a member of Westport Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, driving his sports car, playing basketball and baseball, and most of all doing things with his children and grandchildren.

He married Rebecca S. Shumaker in Westport, February 17, 1973, and she survives. Other survivors include his daughter: Alyson (Shawn) Bainbridge, Greensburg; his son: Christopher W. (Tirzah) Biddinger, North Vernon; his sisters: Janet Faye Yeager, Butlerville, and Sandy Biddinger, Greensburg; his brother: Richard Dean Biddinger, Westport; and his 4 grandchildren: Kyran Luken, Kaidyn Speer, Adelle Bainbridge, and Charles Biddinger. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister: Sharolyn Irene Biddinger.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 4, 2013, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, with Rev. David A. Scaggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Rock Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 6 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the IU Simon Cancer Center, Westport Baptist Church Building Fund or Our Hospice of South Central Indiana–Decatur County.
