F. Ellis Starnes, 76

Greensburg — F. Ellis Starnes, 76, of Greensburg and formerly of Flat Rock, died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013 at Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

He was retired from Cummins Engine Company after 34 years. He attended First Baptist Church in Greensburg and was a member of the Hope Masonic Lodge.

Funeral services begin at 1 p.m. Thursday at Norman Funeral Home in Hope with Rev. Jerry Crouse officiating and Pastor Cliff Bunch assisting.

Visitation will be Wed. 4 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time at the funeral home. There will be a Masonic Service at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Born Aug. 30, 1936 in Norman, Mr. Starnes was the son of Floyd A. and Nettie Branaman Starnes.  

Survivors include, children, Bobette(Tom) Robbins and Desiree Starnes of Greensburg, Jay(Laura) Pennington and Penny (Kevin) McFall of Mich. and Mary Jo Kimberlain of N.C., grandchildren, Natasha(Scott) Ogden, Bryce Wesseler, Jason and Jonathon Pennington, Jeremy, Samantha and Shaun Bullard and Jasmine Kimberlain; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael N. Starnes of Flat Rock and a sister, Cynthia (Michael) Deckard of Hope.

Mr. Starnes was preceded in death by his parents, his companion of 35 years, Marjie Pennington and brothers, Mark D. and David M. “Shug” Starnes.
