Betty June Anderson Whayne, 84

Greensburg — Betty June Anderson Whayne, 84, of Milan and formerly of Greensburg, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013 at Ripley Crossing at Milan.

She was born Sunday, July 15, 1928 in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Mack and Beulah (Russello) Anderson. She married Anthony S. Whayne in 1949, and he preceded her in death in 1990.

Betty was a 1946 graduate of Burney High School and a 1949 graduate of Kentucky Hospital School of Nursing in Louisville.

Betty served as a nurse fro a short time at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg.

She was a homemaker and a bridge director having two bridge clubs of her own.

She loved adventures, camping, boating, fishing, NASCAR, baseball, basketball and football. Betty was of the Episcopalian faith.

Betty is survived by her son, Anthony S. Whayne Jr. of Longmont, Colo.; daughters Teresa Susan Clause of Portland, Ore., Lisa Whayne Walther of Crawford, Colo.; sister Susan Reasoner of Greensburg; brothers James Nickolas Anderson of Indianapolis, Bill Anderson of Greensburg and Dale Anderson of Alliance, Ohio; and a granddaughter, Angella Clause.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob and Vernon Hooper.

It was Betty’s wish to have private services at the convenience of her family at St. Gabriel’s Episcopalian Church in Marion, Mass. Memorials may be made to the Activity Fund at Ripley Crossing through Laws-Carr-Moore Funeral Home, P.O. Box 243, Milan, IN 47031.
