Forest “Fritz” F. White, 90

Rushville — Forest “Fritz” Fredric White, 90, passed away Feb. 18, 2013, at his home.

He was born Sept. 9, 1922, in Milroy to Willard and Sudie White, both deceased.

He graduated from Milroy High School in 1940. He married Anabel Han Oct. 24, 1942. She preceded him in death Nov. 18, 2007.

He was a lifetime member of Milroy Christian Church, where he was an ordained elder and Sunday school teacher for more than 50 years. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge Knights Templar and Scottish Rite.

He was a 50-year member of Farm Bureau and served for 30 years as a director of the Rush County REMC. He had served on the Rush County Fair Board, the Rush County Extension Board, was a long time member of the Milroy Community Club and served as a 4-H leader.

Fritz was a lifetime farmer and also worked for 12 years as a salesman and county manager with Farm Bureau Insurance in Rushville. In his later years, he also enjoyed writing columns called Grandpa Says for the Rushville Republican.

He is survived by a son, Nick White of Milroy; brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Geraldine White of Milroy; three grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Becky White Walker.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, at Milroy Christian Church, 201 E. Main St., Milroy, with Rev. Ron Simbro officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, at Milroy Christian Church with Masonic serves at 7 p.m. Burial will be at East Brook Cemetery, Milroy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Milroy Christian Church, Milroy Masonic Lodge and the John Sam Anderson Scholarship with the Rush County Community Foundation for band and choir students.

Burns Funeral Home in Milroy is entrusted with arrangements.
