Marilyn ‘Audie’ Gill McKinney, 82

Greensburg — Marilyn ‘Audie’ Gill McKinney, 82, Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at South Central Hospice, Columbus.

A long-time Greensburg resident, Mrs. McKinney was born June 15, 1930, in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of James Thomas and Nola Mae Jenkins Gill. She was a 1948 graduate of Greensburg Community High School.

Mrs. McKinney formerly worked for the State of Indiana, Levenstein’s Salvage, Stephenson’s Jewelers, First Presbyterian Church, and she was also a Bookkeeper for many local businesses.  She was an avid bridge player and enjoyed rooting for the Greensburg Pirates.

She served 10 years as the memorial chairman of the American Cancer Society in Decatur County, was a member of the Alpha Alumnae Chapter of Delta Theta Tau, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Greensburg. Mrs. McKinney and her husband were also members of the Greensburg Country Club and Elks Club Greensburg.  She married Donald C. McKinney in Greensburg, October 10, 1954, and he survives at the home.

Mrs. McKinney was a loving wife, mother and Nana. In addition to her husband, she will be greatly missed by her daughter: Penny (Mike) Dolph, Greensburg; son: Thomas L. (Carolyn) McKinney, Anderson; grandchildren: Jody Coffman, Sharilyn McKinney, Derek Kramer, Matthew Whalbring and Marcus (Emily) Whalbring; great-grandchildren: Draven and Lucas Whalbring; two sisters: Margaret June Hawkins, Middletown, Ohio, and Ruth Gill (Demet) Zonars, Dayton, Ohio; one niece, two nephews, and Great nieces and nephews.

Mrs. McKinney was preceded in death by her sisters: Evalena Aldridge, Stella Rutherford, Katherine Gill, Vergie Gill; and her brother: Robert Gill.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home, with the Rev. Margaret Lowe officiating. Burial will be in South Park Cemetery, Greensburg.

Friends may call at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, March 2, 2013, where she will be honored by the Alpha Alumnae Chapter of Delta Theta Tau. Memorials can be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana, 1201 North Lincoln Street, Suite, A, Greensburg, 47240.
