Charles “Chuck” William Meadows, Jr., 58

Greensburg — Charles “Chuck” William Meadows, Jr., 58, Terre Haute, formerly of Greensburg, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013, at Union Hospital after an extended illness.

He was born May 23, 1954, in Maysville Ky., to Charles and Marcella (Bennett) Meadows, Greensburg. He graduated Greensburg High School in 1972 and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp, serving as military police during the Vietnam Conflict, from 1973 to 1976. He was member of the Joseph A Bray Detachment 471, Marine Corp League, Terre Haute, where he served in the military order of the Devil Dogs in the color guard. His greatest love was playing his guitar with his grandchildren singing along and also his three cats: Fuzzball, Varmit and Bootsie.

He was preceded in death by one daughter: Crystal; his maternal grandparents: Sam and Midge Bennett; and his paternal grandparents: Roy Meadows and Clara Conley.

He’s survived by his parents; and his wife: Diane (Readinger) Meadows, Terre Haute, whom he married in 2006. He’s also survived by two children: Steven (Eve) Meadows, and Christina Sizemore, both of Greensburg; two step daughters: Angela Readinger, Holiday Fla., and Amanda Readinger, Terre Haute; five grandchildren: Kasey and Kyle Wilson, Greensburg, Kayla Otero, Greensburg, Ethan and Owen Meadows, Greensburg; two step-grandchildren: Tiffany (Adkins) Venable, Greensburg, and Haylee Kelley, Misawa, Japan; and three Great grandchildren. He’s also survived by three sisters: Sherry Purvis, Dianna (Bud) Huff, Linda (Doug) Spitler; and two brothers: Rick Meadows and Jeff (Brenda) Meadows, all of Greensburg.

Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 28, and from 11 a.m. until services Friday, March 1, at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, located at 302 North Franklin Street, Greensburg.

Military Graveside services will follow in South Park Cemetery, Greensburg.
