Katherine L. Lozier, 87
Katherine L. Lozier, 87, of North Vernon, passed away at her residence on Monday, Nov. 30.
Born Oct. 3, 1922 in Shelbyville, she was the daughter of the late Franklin L. and Thelma Ora Stevens Taggart. She married James Lozier on Nov. 11, 1949. He preceded her in death on Jan. 27, 2000.
Katerine enjoyed crocheting, working crossword puzzles, watching Gaither gospel videos, cooking and collecting elephants.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Jim) Summers of Louisville and Kathy Brown of North Vernon; a son, Mark B. Lozier of North Vernon; a brother, Robert Taggart of Greenwood; a sister, Virginia Stewart of Shelbyville; Claudette Young, her caregiver; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, James Michael Lozier; a grandson, Michael Lozier; a brother, James Taggart; and two sisters, Delores Mclain and Norma Stanley.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4 at the Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home in North Vernon. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Rev. Kristopher Brown will be officiating. Burial will be at the Vernon Cemetery.
Memorials may be made through Sawyer-Pickett to the Alzheimer’s Association.
