Elizabeth M. "Betty" Wenning, 77

Elizabeth M. "Betty" Wenning, 77, Greensburg, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at the St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.

Born, Sept. 19, 1932 in Shelby County, she was the daughter of Frank and Rose (Runnebohm) Beyer.

Betty graduated from Waldron High School. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church, The Delta Theta Tau Sorority and the Beta Alumnae Chapter.

She had worked at Bohn Aluminum as a bookkeeper and then at the Decatur County Jail as a cook.

She is survived by her companion of many years, Donald Hirt; one son, Roger D. (Ruth) Wenning, Greensburg; one daughter, Karla (Ron) Martin, Frankfort, Germany; two brothers, James Beyer, Waldron, Maurice Beyer, Pensacola, Fl.; three sisters, Lillian White, Milwaukee, Wi., Mildred Brinson, Morristown, Barbara Abel, Pensacola, Fl.; six grandchildren, Jeff (Lori) Wenning, Ashley (Kyle) Alexander, Allison Wenning, Lauren, Sarah and Brooke Martin; two step grandchildren, Alex and Carly Bice; one great grandchild, Zoe Wenning; four step great grandchildren, Aries Jarvis, Zack Linville, Alyssa Yorn, Dylan Jarvis.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg. A public rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 30 at the St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church in St. Vincent, Indiana with Rev. Paul Landwerlen officiating.

Interment will be held in the St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church or to the American Lung Association or to the American Cancer Society.
