Donald R. Bower, 75
Donald R. Bower, 75, Greensburg, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Major Hospital in Shelbyville.
Born, July 3, 1934 in Greensburg, Indiana, he was the son of James H. and Alberta (Smith) Bower.
He had worked in the parts department first at Kocher Ford in Greensburg, then Mahan Ford in Columbus, then for 21 years at Shirks in Greensburg, where he was served as the parts manager.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Greensburg. He was a veteran of the Army. He was married to Margaret A. Rutherford on September 30, 1956 she preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son, Kevin R. (Julie) Bower, Oldenburg; one daughter, Susan (Rick) Murray, Greensburg; one brother, Larry (Susie) Bower, Greensburg; one sister, Vivian "Joann" Brown, Greensburg; 4 grandchildren, Joshua (Emily) Bower, Batesville, Kimberly (Chad) Meyer, Batesville, Jessica Bower, Oldenburg, Morgan Murray, Greensburg. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Visitation will be from 4-7:00 p.m. Friday at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2009 at the Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home in Greensburg with Rev. Keith Dover officiating.
Interment will be held in the South Park Cemetery in Greensburg. Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Shelby County. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.popfuneralhome.com.
