J.C. Lykins, 75


J.C. Lykins, 75, of Sunman passed away Thursday, Nov. 5 at Margaret Mary Community Hospital in Batesville.

He was born on Sept. 24, 1934 in Hindman, Ky. to Curtis and Laura (Hicks) Lykins. He was married to Margarett Hahn in Harrison, Ohio on Nov. 20-1953, and she survives.

He was a retired operator engineer, operating heavy equipment. His hobby was cattle farming, and he would often take money from his job and put it in his cattle. He was a member of Sunman Lodge 590 F&AM;, Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine in Indianapolis.

He is survived by his wife, his sons David C. (Rita) Lykins and Dan (Nan) Lykins of Sunman; his daughter Laura (Raymond) Webster of Charleston, S.C.; his grandchildren Ronald and Cynthia Creech, Elaine Roope, Angela Lykins, Davy Lykins and Andy and Ethan Lykins; his great-grandchildren Tasia, Ronald and Jaedah Creech, Savannah Roope and Cole Lykins; his brothers Wiley and Arnold Lyins; and his sisters Sue Hacker and Barbara Holstram.

Visitation will take place Sunday, Nov. 8 from 1-5 p.m. at Meyers Funeral Home in Batesville.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. at the funeral home, with Sunman Lodge 590 F&AM; officiating.

Burial will be on a later date with family only.

Memorials may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children in care of the funeral home.
