Herman E. Beeman, 75



Herman E. Beeman, 75, of North Vernon passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 5:30 PM at his home near Butlerville.

A funeral service will be at 10 am on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at the Nebraska Church of God with Rev. Patrick Harrigan officiating. Visitation will be at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm and from 9 am until the time of the service at the church on Thursday. Burial will be at Rock Creek Cemetery near Westport.

Born in Madison County on April 15, 1935, Herman was the son of the late Herman and Opal Carson Beeman. He attended school in Zenas and later went on to marry Betty Hodge on August 17, 1958. She preceded him in death on April 22, 1999.

Mr. Beeman had retired from Cummins Engine Company and was a member of the Nebraska Church of God and the Holton Masonic Lodge. He loved to play guitar, watch ball games, and mowing grass.

Herman is survived by a son, Mark Beeman of Azalia, two daughter, Connie Hammond of Butlerville and Tammy Decker of Hope, four brothers, Paul and Carl Beeman of Butlerville, Bill Beeman of South Carolina, and Sam Beeman of North Vernon, two sister, Joan Murr of Columbus and Mary Boyd of North Vernon, six grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Michael Beeman.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the American Cancer Society.
