Gordon L. Hubbard, 96, of Evansville, passed away Friday, August 28, 2009, at Good Samaritan Home, where he lived for the past 3 years. He was born April 9, 1913 in Port Hope, Michigan.
Gordon retired from Bohn Aluminum and Brass Company in Greensburg in 1977, after 47 years of service. Gordon and his wife, Dorothy moved to Evansville from Greensburg to be closer to family in May 2002.
He was a member of the Scottish Rites and loved to play golf until he was 89.
Gordon was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy in July 2003.
He is survived by his two sons, Bill and his wife, Judy of New Castle, IN and Bob and his wife, Maryann of Evansville; 4 grandchildren, John Hubbard of Bloomington, Carol Hubbard of New Castle, Jennifer Wilson and her husband, Lonnie of West Lafayette, and Brian Hubbard of Chicago; and one great grandchild, Tyler Wilson of West Lafayette.
The family wishes to thank all the nurses and staff of the West Unit at Good Samaritan for their loving care and support.
Entombment will be held 1 p.m. (CST) Sept. 5, at Sunset Memorial Park. There will be no visitation.
