Gladys F. Carlton-Carmer, 68, of Shelbyville, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at Heritage House Convalescent Center, Shelbyville.
She was born Aug. 18, 1944 in Noblesville, the daughter of Addis and Hattie (Johnson) Burchett.
Gladys was a homemaker who was known for her devotional poems
She is survived by a son, Donald (Lagina) Carlton of New Point; a sister, Martha (Rick) Davidson of Shelbyville; stepdaughter Tammy Dickson of Shelbyville; brother-in-law Matt Flannery of Shelbyville; sisters-in-law Doris Burchett and Mary Burchett, both of Shelbyville, and her grandchildren, Tiffany Carlton, Kirstin Staggs, Kymberlea Staggs, Cherakee Carlton, Dakota Carlton, Ashley Trolinder and Lindsay Trolinder.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. Monday, March 11, 2013 at Murphy-Parks Funeral Service and Crematory, Shelbyville. Reverend Mark Vice will officiate.
Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 10 at the funeral home.
Burial will take place Monday at Whispering Hope Memorial Gardens, Shelbyville.
Memorials may be made to the Gladys Carmer Memorial Fund.
