Joe Fey, 73

Greensburg — Joe Fey, 73, a life long Rush County resident, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2012 in Greenfield.

He was born Jan. 12, 1939 in Rush County to Wayne & Lena (Speer) Fey. Joe was a 1957 graduate of New Salem High School.

Joe served in the U.S. Army.

He married Darlene J. Miller March 29, 1959. She preceded him in death Sept. 22, 2008.

Joe was a member of the Orange Masonic Lodge #234 F&AM, the Valley of Indianapolis Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Degree 32 with 34 years of membership, Andersonville OES #93, the Masonic Riders Association, Tri County Widows Sons of Indiana, Past Fire Chief of many years for Glenwood VFD and he served as Richland Township Trustee for several years.

He farmed in Richland Township his entire life and also served as Sexton for Hopewell Cemetery. Joe was always quick with a joke and a word of encouragement.

He is survived by a son, Donald & wife Annette of Glenwood, a daughter, Teresa L. Fey of Charlottsville, a sister, Alice Jane Fey of Rushville and grandchildren, Sarah E. and Joseph A. Fey. In addition to his parents and wife, Joe was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16 at Moster Mortuary in Rushville where friends are welcome to visit from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15.

Pastor Harold Thompson will preside and burial will be in the Hopewell Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Hospice of Decatur County.
