Rusty Green, 79

Greensburg — Our mother, Rusty Green, age 79 years, 1 month, 28 days, went to live with God Nov. 2, 2012, at Ripley Crossing, Milan.

She was born Sept. 1, 1933, in Ripley County, at Rural Route 1, Bateville. Her parents were Hervey and Susie Ellis Linville. She married Joseph Harold Green, Dec. 11, 1964, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Napoleon.

Rusty resided in the Napoleon area most of her life. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, where she had served on various committees, including alter care. She was a past employee of the US Shoe Corporation for many years until her retirement.

After retiring, she began a new adventure in life and became a hairdresser and business woman. She opened the Rustic Barn Styling Boutique in Napoleon.

Rusty served the community for many years, providing great service and wonderful friendship. Camping became a wonderful adventure for relaxation and weekly enjoyment. Her husband, Joe, and she adventured to many campgrounds — near and far. Traveling alone or with camping buddies, they enjoyed many starry nights around the campfire.

Rusty is survived by a son: Steve (Cathy) Green of Osgood; by daughters: Debra (Jerry) Russell of Versailles, Terri (Roger) Toops of Osgood, Connie (John) Saylor of Nashville, Tenn., Sherri Shadday and her fiancée David Bradshaw, both of Osgood; one sister: Eileen Borgman of Osgood; several grandchildren; and one Great-Great granddaughter.

Rusty was preceded in death by her husband; and three brothers: Gordon, Herbert “Randy,” and Lawrence Linville.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 14, at Neal’s Funeral Home, Osgood.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Nov. 15, at Hopewell Baptist Church, Holton; Rusty will lie in state at the church from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Napoleon.

Memorials may be made to the Napoleon Fire Department.

Arrangements by Neal’s Funeral Home.
