Ronald G. Schneider, 73, of Rushville, passed away Jan. 26, 2013 at Flatrock River Lodge in Rushville.
Ron was born Jan. 22, 1940 in Dayton, Ohio, the son of the late Anthony Schneider. His mother, Helen Schneider, survives. He married Mary Hoeing Oct. 5, 1963, and she survives.
He attended Raleigh High School and was a graduate of Mays High School.
He worked at Perfect Circle-Dana as a supervisor and then was the custodian and maintenance director at St. Mary Catholic School and Church for many years. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of St. Mary Catholic Church. He also was active in the Knights of Columbus and served as scout master for Boy Scout Troop 27 in years past.
Those left to cherish his memory include his mother, Helen Schneider, of Brookville, Ohio; wife Mary Schneider, of Rushville; son Michael (Susan) Schneider of Cincinnati, Ohio; Kate (Bud) DeCleene of Kokomo and Karen (Paul) Geisting of Hurst, Ill.; brother, Dan (Nancy) Schneider of Farmersville, Ohio; and grandchildren: Erin, Chris, Seth and Maria DeCleene.
He will also be greatly missed by the many children and alumni of St. Mary School.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Rushville, Rev. Jeremy Gries officiating.
Burial will follow at Rushville’s Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday Feb. 1 at Todd Funeral Centre and Crematory where all are welcome to recite the rosary at 4 p.m.
