Charles Leo “Sam” Hardebeck, 72

Greensburg — Charles Leo “Sam” Hardebeck, 72, of Greensburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013 at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center in Indianapolis.

He was born Aug. 18, 1940 in Greensburg, the son of Carl H. and Mildred N. (Powell) Hardebeck. He was born and raised in Greensburg and graduated from Greensburg High School in 1959.

He was a former resident of Montana and Hawaii. He was a truck driver and he also sold real estate.

He was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Greensburg.

He was a veteran having served with the U.S. Army in Korea. He enjoyed restoring old cars, log cabins and collecting antiques.

Survivors include his daughter, Tammy Thomas of Campbellsville, Ky.; his sisters, Phyllis A. Schwering, Margaret Annie (James) Laudick both of Greensburg and Donna Sue (Ron) Allen of Westport;

his granddaughter, Meredith Thomas of Campbellsville, Ky.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Robert J. Hardebeck.

Following his wishes, he will be cremated.

Entombment will follow at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery at Madison at a later date.

Bass & Gasper Funeral Home and Crematory was entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Wounded Warrior Project.
