Ronald P. Jones, 55

Greensburg — Ronald P. Jones, 55, of Franklin County, passed away Sunday, Dec. 16, 2012 at his home with loving family by his side.

He was born May 30, 1957 in Rushville to John P. and Martha J. (Kilgore) Jones. He was a 1975 graduate of Rushville Consolidated High School. Ron spent most of his life in Rushville, but had spent the last 13 years in Franklin County.

Ron married Gloria JoAnn “Jody” (Richardson) Porter Sept. 1, 2001; she survives.  

He worked as an electrician for Federal-Mogul, now NIN/BCA, in Greensburg for 25 years and had worked at INTAT since 2005. Ron was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to camp and fish. He was a sports fanatic, especially when the Colts and IU basketball were on.

In addition to his wife, Jody, of Franklin County, Ron is survived by his mother, Martha J. Jones of Rushville; a daughter, Tasha Nicole Jones and companion Ben McNamara of Shelbyville; step daughters, Mindy R. Monroe and Christina Porter, both of Greenwood, Korrin and husband Ed Ruble of Franklin County and Nichole J. and husband Roger Ringley of Rushville; a brother, Robert A. and wife Lisa Peterson of Royal Oak, Mich.; a sister, Barbara E. Jones Peterson of Rushville; a grandson, Jaxan Hoon McNamara; step grandchildren, Brendon, Carrie, Hannah, Paige and Carmen; and step great-granddaughter, Harley.

Ron was preceded in death by his father.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 19 at Moster Mortuary, Rushville with Brother Rob Edwards presiding. Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Rushville’s East Hill Cemetery.
