Ethel Irene (Weber) George, 89

Greensburg — Ethel Irene (Weber) George, 89, of Spiceland, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family following a brief illness.

She was born Jan. 17, 1923 in Decatur County, the daughter of John Peter and Lillian Augusta (Weideman) Weber.

Ethel was a member of the New Lisbon Christian Church and had taught Sunday School at Sexton Christian Church. She enjoyed cooking and canning. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 68 years: James Riley George; four sons: Roger (Carol) George of Norwalk, Ohio, Jim (Janet) George of Muncie, Dennis (Cathy) George of Spiceland, Robert George of New Castle; a daughter: Donna Sue (Tom) Roginski of Mertztown, Penn.; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; a brother: Norman (Lois) Weber of Greensburg; many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law: Mary Weber and Evelyn Weber both of Greensburg.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Andy George; three brothers: Herbert, Arthur and Jack Weber; three sisters: Nellie Grow, Dorothy Powers and Olive Spiegel.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12, at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, Rev. Bill Worrel officiating.

Burial will follow in Circle Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association of Indianapolis.
