Dorothy L. Phillips, 86, of Milroy, passed away Saturday Nov. 24, 2012 in Shelbyville.
Dorothy was born in Greenup County, Ky. Feb. 6, 1926 to the late Orville and Goldie (Dillow) Adkins.
Dorothy lived in the Milroy and Arlington area for most of her life and was a 1943 graduate of Arlington High School.
Dorothy married Donald E. Phillips June 25, 1954 and he preceded her in death March 12, 2004.
She retired from Philco Ford Aero Space of Connersville, working many years in assembly. Dorothy was a member of Big Flatrock Christian Church and the Dorcas Circle II.
Dorothy leaves behind three brothers, Orville “Bill” Adkins and wife Nancy of Rushville, Larry Adkins and wife Sharrell also of Rushville, Ronnie Adkins of Laurel and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Don, one brother, Mike Adkins, and three sisters, Eunice Sparks, Louise Piles and Avanelle Stagg.
Services begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Moster Mortuary in Rushville, Rev. Robert G. Burgbacher and Pastor Rebecca Merriman-Gibbons presiding.
Burial will follow in Arlington East Hill Cemetery.
Friends are welcome to visit from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the mortuary.
Memorial contributions may be made to Big Flatrock Christian Church.
