Jerry E. Veerkamp, 63

Greensburg — Jerry E. Veerkamp, 63, passed away Jan. 22, 2013, at his Greensburg residence.

He was born in Greensburg, Nov. 9, 1949, to Lee and Margaret (Griffin) Veerkamp.

Jerry graduated from Sandcreek High School, 1967. He served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Millhousen, and of the Conservation Club, Greensburg. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman and loved deer hunting and fishing. He loved his family, and his grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Jerry married Sue Blake, July 18, 1984, and she survives.

Other survivors include: Two sons: David (Misty) Veerkamp, Osgood, and Randy Holt, Greensburg; two daughters: Sherrie Veerkamp, North Vernon, and Kendra Holt, Greensburg; three sisters: Joan (Jerry) Mullis, Columbus, Roberta (Phillip) Cruser, Westport, and Carol (Duane) McKinley, Greensburg; and seven grandchildren: Ashlee Veerkamp, Emalee Veerkamp, Lexi Herrmann, Brandon Holt, Chelsie Sharp, Megan Lucas, and Kayla Ramsey.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24 at Porter-Oliger-Pearson Funeral Home, with a Rosary Service at 3:30 p.m.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Millhousen.

Burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, Millhousen.
